The new Taurus GX2 TORO brings optics ready capability to our affordable and reliable compact pistol platform. The GX2 TORO’s slide is direct milled to accept optics that fit the Shield RMSC/Holosun-K footprint, which is the most common compact optics footprint. In the above video, Caleb Giddings breaks down how easy it is to install an optic on your new GX2 TORO.

All you need is a wrench with a Torx T15 bit, some Loctite, and the optic of your choice. We recommend the Viridian RFX11 Micro as a great option for the Taurus GX2 TORO.

The steps are simple. Make sure the gun is clear, then remove the slide cover plate with your wrench. Set the screws aside, you’ll need them later. Thoroughly decrease the screws and the mounting area for the optic. Then place your optic on top, apply a thin coat of Loctite to the same screws that held the slide cover plate on, and tighten the optic in place. If you have a torque wrench, you should torque the screws to 15 inch-pounds.

And that’s it! Your optic is mounted to your Taurus GX2 TORO, and you’re ready to head to the range and zero.
